Description

Temporary impact attenuators TL-1, TL-2 and TL-3 are certified safety devices that absorb the energy of a vehicle impact at the end of a guardrail run. They are MASH and NCHRP-350 certified and available new or used from stock.

Technical specifications

  • Available levels: TL-1, TL-2 and TL-3 (matched to different posted speeds)
  • Certifications: MASH and NCHRP-350 — recognized compliance
  • Condition: new and used units in stock
  • Function: absorbs impact energy at the end of a guardrail run

Common applications

  • Highway work zones: safe termination of jersey barriers
  • High-speed areas: main roads, expressways, highway on/off ramps
  • Temporary road works: long-duration work zones with traffic nearby
  • Guardrail starting points: any location where a vehicle could strike the end of a barrier

Certification and attestation

Each installation can be supplied with an engineer's attestation confirming compliance with the MASH/NCHRP-350 standards applicable to the test level (TL-1, TL-2, TL-3) and to the posted speed on the road segment concerned.

Pricing varies with the configuration selected (TL level, new or used, length of the absorption zone).

Certification & attestation

Important: the unit's certification (TL-2, TL-3, TL-4 or another MTQ/MTO approval) confirms the conformity of the product itself, but is not sufficient to authorize its installation on a job site.

Every installation, relocation or reconfiguration of concrete barriers on a site must be attested by an engineer. This attestation is mandatory for:

  • Any new installation of TL barriers on a job site
  • Any relocation or repositioning of units already in place
  • Any reconfiguration of the layout (angle change, addition, removal, connection)

If you do not have an engineer assigned to the project, our team can direct you to partner firms familiar with the standards in force in Quebec and Ontario.

Delivery & unloading

We deliver throughout Quebec and Ontario from our three locations (Napierville, Lévis, Limoges). Depending on your site and the product ordered, several options are available:

  • Flatbed trailer — standard deck for most deliveries on accessible surfaces.
  • Drop-Deck trailer with ramp — the ramp lets us drive our forklifts directly on site to unload and install as needed, with no equipment required on your end.
  • 4×4 off-road unloading — thanks to our 4×4 forklifts, we can unload and install virtually anywhere: active job sites, uneven ground, remote sites or areas with no prepared surface.

Lead times vary by product and stock availability. For a precise estimate, request your quote.
