Construction site security — Quebec & Ontario

Rental and sale of construction fences

Self-supporting construction fences 8' and 10' (6' high) and fences to be mounted on Jersey barriers. Sales, short or long-term rental, specialized delivery and installation throughout Quebec and Ontario, since 1994.

Two types for two types of projects

Self-supporting or on rails — choosing the right configuration

Construction fencing is the basic tool for cordoning off a site, controlling access, and protecting the public from a work area. At Blocs de Béton Inc., we offer the two main configurations used in construction and events in Quebec and Ontario.

Free-standing fencing (8 or 10-foot long panels, 6 feet high) requires no ground anchoring. It can be set up directly, easily moved from one site to another, and is suitable for residential, commercial, and event sites where quick installation is essential. Concrete or plastic bases are available separately for windier areas or longer durations.

Fencing on barriers attaches directly to our concrete Jersey barriers. This is the preferred option for road, highway, and high-risk perimeters where the barrier must withstand a vehicle. Combined with the barrier, the fence forms a dual-function wall: vehicular redirection and visual separation of the work area.

Our advantages

Why entrust us with the security of your construction site

— 01

— 04

Turnkey service

From selection to unloading, you talk to a single team. Our project manager recommends the configuration, plans logistics, and coordinates on-site installation with your foreman.

Applications

What types of construction sites do our clients use them for

— 01

Construction sites

Securing the perimeter of a residential, commercial, or industrial site during construction work. Prevents unauthorized access, protects equipment, and limits legal liability in the event of an incident on the premises.

— 02

External events

Festivals, races, public markets, trade fairs, concerts. Delineate public areas, channel pedestrian traffic flows, and mark reserved areas (artists, services, vendors).

— 03

Road and Municipal Works

Combined with our MTQ Jersey barriers, the fence creates a dual obstruction: vehicle protection + visual barrier. Ideal for roadside construction sites or partial lane closures.

— 04

Emergency and temporary restricted access

Fire, demolition, spill, environmental inspection. Rapid mobilization to cordon off an area and control access pending completion of the intervention or final decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What we're asked before ordering construction site fences

Practical answers to questions from our entrepreneur, project manager, and event organizer clients.

Configuration Selection

Freestanding or slide-in—which to choose?

Self-standing fences are suitable for most construction sites and events: quick to install, easy to move, no anchoring required. Their stability depends on the bases (concrete or plastic) you use with them.

Jersey barrier fences are necessary when the area is roadside or must withstand vehicular impact — road construction sites, highways, high-traffic areas. They combine with our MTQ-approved concrete barriers.

8 foot or 10 foot — which length to choose?

The 8-foot panel is more versatile and easier to handle in confined spaces—ideal for urban environments, narrow sites, or around buildings. The 10-foot panel covers more distance per unit—preferable for large open perimeters where minimizing the number of connections is desired.

Do freestanding models require a weighted base?

The self-supporting fence stands alone for short periods and in calm weather. For sites exposed to wind, long durations (more than a few weeks), or high pedestrian traffic areas, we recommend concrete or plastic bases, available separately. Our team will assess the need according to your site when submitting the quote.

Logistics and setup

How many fence panels are needed for 100m of fencing?

With freestanding panels of 10 feet (~3 m), count approximately 33 panels per 100 m. With 8-foot (~2.4 m) panels, approximately 42 panels. Our project manager calculates the exact total based on your perimeter and the location of access points.

Typical delivery time?

For standard orders near one of our three warehouses (Napierville, Lévis, Limoges), allow 24 to 72 hours depending on stock and route schedule. For large volumes or remote areas, we will confirm the lead time at the time of quotation.

Are tools required for installation?

Self-supporting panels are assembled using standard flanges or clamps — no special tools required. The sliding model requires the Jersey slide to be positioned first (delivered and placed by our teams with a pinch bar). Our installation service includes all handling equipment.

Do you deliver to Ontario?

Yes. Our Limoges branch (995 Limoges Rd, K0A 1W0) covers Ottawa, the Outaouais region and Eastern Ontario. For projects in Southern or Western Ontario, contact us at 613 369-8383 to validate feasibility.

Rental, purchase, and trade-in

Should you rent or buy?

Rule of thumb: for under 24 months of use, rental is almost always more economical. Beyond that, purchase amortizes. For permanent use (warehouse to fence, stable industrial perimeter), purchase is recommended. Our project manager will provide a detailed comparison based on your timeline.

Do you pick up the fences at the end of the project?

Yes – it's included as standard in our rental agreements. We coordinate the removal on the agreed date, with no hidden fees. If you have purchased and wish to resell your panels at the end of the project, send the details (quantity, condition, location) to soumission@groupechoquette.com for a quick quote.

Ready to secure your construction site?

Describe your project: length to be fenced, duration, type of construction site. We will get back to you with a price, a lead time, and the recommended configuration (self-supporting, on rails, with or without bases).
